Problematicità dell'idea tradizionale di provvidenza = The problematic nature of the traditional idea of Providence
Abstract
Taking the Catechism of the Catholic Church as a critical point of reference, this essay intends to show the problematic nature of the traditional idea of providence. On one hand, the existence of a providence in the world is something difficult to legitimise from a phenomenological point of view. On the other hand, the traditional idea of providence generally ends up justifying existing reality along with its injustices and horrors. Instead, it is a question of holding fast to the Old Testament and New Testament hope in the eschatological advent of a counterfactual world and of recognizing that the adoption of the ancient concept of a Platonic-Stoic matrix based providence was one of the most serious errors of Christian thought.
