Daniela Chironi is a PhD Candidate in Political Sociology at the European University Institute. Her research interests concern the relation between social movements and political parties. She is currently investigating the role of social movements in setting off organizational changes within left-wing parties in Western Europe, focusing particularly on SYRIZA. A recent publication is ‘Social Movements within Organisations: Occupy Parties in Italy and Turkey’ (with J. Bergan Draege and D. della Porta, South European Society and Politics, 2016).

Raffaella Fittipaldi is a PhD Candidate in Social and Political Change at the Universities of Florence and Turin. Her main research interests include political parties, social movements, populism, new forms of organization and participation. She is currently analysing Podemos and spending research periods at the Complutense University of Madrid.
