Focus and Scope
Lingue e Linguaggi is an international and interdisciplinary journal in the areas of humanities, with particular emphasis on modern languages, linguistic analysis, literary criticism, and translation. The journal accepts manuscripts in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Albanian and adopts a double-blind refereeing process.
Lingue e Linguaggi publishes two ordinary volumes and up to three special issues per year (approximate timeline: March 2025; July 2025; November 2025).
Special issues deal with specialised topics falling within the scope of the journal. Guest Editors are invited to submit their special issue proposals to the Journal Manager, Pietro Luigi Iaia, at pietroluigi.iaia@unisalento.it, following the guidelines below.
Guidelines for Guest Editors
Proposals for special issues should be submitted by the Guest Editors, including:

A suggested title for the special issue;

An overview of the topic of the special issue (please indicate if the special issue is associated with a conference, including all available information, such as the conference website, list of presentations and speakers);

Specification concerning the call, whether it is an open call for papers or not;

If the call for papers is not open, a table of contents (although provisional). Please consider that special issues must contain at least 12 (twelve) articles (including Introduction/Preface and – if present – Endnote);

Guest Editors’ bionotes (max 100 words per editor);

Timeline and schedule, including: (i) Selected month for publication: March 2025; July 2025; November 2025; (ii) Deadline for submission; (iii) First round of review; (iv) Second round of review; (v) Delivery of final versions of the articles.
Deadlines
Proposals for special issues to be published in March 2025 will be sent by December 31, 2023; Proposals for special issues to be published in July 2025 will be sent by March 31, 2024; Proposals for special issues to be published in November 2025 will be sent by July 31, 2024.
Further notes
Proposals which do not meet these criteria will not be considered. All proposals are subject to approval following a discussion of the proposed special issue among the Lingue e Linguaggi’s Editorial Board.
If more calls for special issues choose the same month for publication (i.e., March 2025; July 2025; November 2025), the chronological order of reception of the approved proposals will be followed. The definitive month for publication will be communicated to Guest Editors, who must meet the deadline.
Guest editors will process the submission and find reviewers.
