Cosimo De Giorgi combined his various interests in scientific investigation with a sincere interest in teaching, which he practised mainly at a technical college in Lecce. His teaching method involved a direct confrontation with reality, to test the concepts learned in class. He organised carefully prepared and adequately documented field trips. He took his commitment as a teacher, which he carried out for many years, very seriously. He was the author of a number of school manuals, in which he proved to be a careful disseminator of the disciplines he taught.

Cosimo De Giorgi unì ai suoi molteplici interessi nel campo dell'indagine scientifica la sincera vocazione per la docenza, che esercitò prevalentemente presso un istituto tecnico di Lecce. Il suo metodo di insegnamento prevedeva un diretto confronto con la realtà, per mettere alla prova i concetti appresi in aula. Organizzava delle visite sul territorio accuratamente preparate ed adeguatamente documentate. Interpretò con grande serietà il suo impegno di docente, che svolse per lunghi anni. Fu autore di alcuni manuali scolastici, in cui si mostrò attento divulgatore delle discipline che insegnava.
