La rivoluzione americana: un dibattito storiografico ancora aperto
Abstract
The article is a brief discussion of some of the major approaches to the American revolution. Classical liberal interpretations, founded on the natural rights of men, faced different kind of analysis, by the progressive school and by republicanism. According to the classical liberal interpretation the radicalization of the philosophy of John Locke transformed liberty and property in a powerful instrument of political struggle. The republican approach and the progressive one deny the idea of property right as an expression of the doctrine of human rights
