La presenza nel Regno di Napoli di Giovanni Castriota figlio di Giorgio Scanderbeg e di sua madre Andronica, è seguita con attenzione attraverso la bibliografia disponibile e anche documentazione inedita. Ora siamo in grado di conoscere con maggiore esattezza la complessa vicenda del figlio e della madre. Questa resta in Napoli nella corte dei re aragonesi, ma sembra anche assumere comportamenti divergenti da quelli del figlio. Giovanni invece, è quasi sempre in Puglia, inserito nella feudalità provinciale e con frequenti attività militari a favore di re Ferrante, come dimostra la sua spedizione in Albania nel 1481; tuttavia è ormai certo che egli si avvicinerà all'invasore Carlo VIII, e al progetto di Crociata del re francese.

The presence of Giovanni Castriota Scanderbeg (Giorgio's son) and of his mother Andronica, in the kingdom of Naples, is carefully followed through the available bibliografy and also unpublished documentation. Now we are able to know, with deeper certainty, the complex story about the son and his mother. The lady remains at the court of Aragonese kings, but she seems to have different behaviors from those of the son. Giovanni, instead, is almost always in Puglia, involved with the provincial feudality and with frequent military activity to help king Ferrante as his military expedition to Albania in 1481 ; however, it is now certain, that he will be very close to the invader Carlo VIII, and that he will share the french king's Crusade project.
