Il presente studio ha come oggetto verificare se le differenze psicologiche fra testimoni, misurate tramite il comportamento non verbale e l'autenticità, sono indicatori su cui ci si possa basare per stabilire la credibilità/affidabilità di un testimone presenziale. Pertanto abbiamo sottoposto 200 soggetti a un lavoro di discriminazione fra due testimoni che fornivano una testimonianza incompatibile. Dopo aver scelto il testimone credibile, compilavano un questionario con misure dell'"errore d'autenticità" e del "comportamento non verbale", che si sono dimostrati indicatori validi della scelta. Infine, si discutono le implicazioni dei risultati.

This study has the aim of confronting if the psychological differences among witnesses when give evidence in court, measured through non verbal behaviour and the authenticity error, are indicators on which we rest on to the provide reliability/credibility of a specific witness. Thus, 200 subjects were submitted to a discrimination task between two non compatible testimonies. After the election of the reliable witness, subjects required to complete a questionnaire to measure the "authenticity error" and "the non verbal behaviour". The results showed that both measures were a good predictors of the election. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications of the results are discussed.

El presente estudio tiene por objeto contrastar si las diferencias psicológicas entre testigos, medidas a través del comportamiento no verbal y autenticidad, son indicadores en los que nos basamos para establecer la credibilidad/fiabilidad de un testigo presencial. Para ello sometimos a 200 sujetos a una tarea de discriminación entre dos testigos que aportaban un testimonio incompatible. Tras elegir al testigo creíble, cumplimentaban un cuestionario con medidas del "error de autenticidad" y de "comportamiento no verbal" que resultaron ser indicadores robustos de la elección. Por último, se discuten las implicaciones de los resultados.
