The model of the psychological treatment of the neurologist and psychiatrist Lorenzo Calvi is expounded, so peculiar as to be defined as a "special psychotherapy". This approach is highlighted in an emblematic clinical case in which the equation "phenomenology is psychotherapy" is demonstrated, in close harmony with his teacher, psychiatrist-phenomenologist, Ferdinando Barison. The peculiarity of Calvi's psychotherapy consists in highlighting a trascendental structure that is not directly perceptible, but which acts once manifested, in which psychic treatment is possible through a "change" shared between therapist and patient. Access to this structure is given by the epochè, in its normal or psychopatological forms, which promotes a phenomenology of treatment. This precedes and at the same time contains psychotherapy as it is conventionally understood. Calvi's phenomenological study is therefore peculiar since it is structured as an interface between the invisibility of the lived world and the factuality of the biological world.

Tale approccio è evidenziato con un emblematico caso clinico in cui si dimostra l'equazione "fenomenologia è psicoterapia", in stretta sintonia con il suo maestro, psichiatra-fenomenologo, Ferdinando Barison. La particolarità della psicoterapia calviana consiste nell'evidenziare una struttura trascendentale non direttamente percepibile, ma che agisce una volta manifestata, in cui è possibile la cura psichica attraverso un "viraggio" terapeutico condiviso tra terapeuta e paziente. L'accesso a questa struttura è data dall'epochè, nelle sue forme normali o psicopatologiche, che promuove una fenomenologia della cura. Questa precede e nello stesso tempo contiene la psicoterapia come convenzionalmente è intesa. Lo studio fenomenologico di Calvi pertanto è peculiare poiché si struttura come un'interfaccia tra l'invisibilità del mondo vissuto e la fattualità del mondo biologico.
