L'immaginario del made in Italy: la biografia culturale del cappello di paglia fiorentino


Abstract


This article proposes a reflection on cultural heritage, Made in Italy and mass consumption. It starts from ethnographic research based on a specific case study: the production and consumption of Florence's straw hat. The fieldwork is Florence's industrial zone: Signa, Lastra a Signa, Campi Bisenzio in particular. The aim of the article is to describe the central role of cultural biography of things in the processes of construction of cultural identity in the world of mass consumption.
